However, especially for temporary infrastructures, simpler, less elaborate foundations are usually produced. Therefore, it is predominantly necessary to compensate for the different heights of the foundations on a point-by-point basis. Why is careful room system height leveling so important?

Height leveling of room containers and modular systems is important to ensure that they can be positioned stably and straight on uneven terrain or varying surfaces. What are the benefits of plastic leveling panels?

  3. Modular Residential Buildings: Similar to modular office buildings, but designed for residential purposes. They can be used as temporary housing or long-term living quarters.

  4. Container Houses (TinyHouses): These use converted shipping containers as the basic structure for homes. They are often a cost-effective and sustainable option for housing.

  5. Sanitary Containers: These containers are specifically designed to provide toilets, showers and washrooms in temporary or remote locations.

  6. Hospital containers: These containers are equipped with medical equipment and can be used as mobile hospitals or medical care units in emergency situations.

  7. School containers: They serve as temporary school buildings or educational facilities in regions where educational infrastructure is lacking or under renovation.

  8. Laboratory containers: These containers are used for scientific research, testing and analysis and are equipped with specialized facilities and equipment.

  9. Refrigerated containers: These containers are designed to transport temperature-sensitive goods such as food or medical products and are equipped with refrigeration systems.

  10. Construction Containers: These serve as mobile offices and storage areas on construction sites, providing a place for construction workers to discuss plans and store equipment.

Does the ground still need to be prepared for container facilities?

That usually depends on anumber of factors, including the weight of the units, building height,  soil conditions, local building standards, and intended useful life. Before using HDPE panels, make sure they are appropriate for your particular situation, and possibly seek the expertise of a civil engineer.

We know from experience that,for room containers and modular systems, different types of foundations can be considered, depending on the specific requirements and local conditions. Strip footings are one option, but they may not always be adequate, especially if the containers or modules are heavy or large. Here are some types of foundations that may be considered: 

  1. Strip footings: These are suitable in many cases, especially if the containers or modules are light and the soil conditions are stable. They provide even support along the long side of the structure.

  2. Pile foundations: These are used when the soil is not sufficiently stable. Piles are driven deep into the ground to provide a stable base. This is especially important in areas with soft or marshy ground.

  3. Slab foundations: These work well for heavier containers or modules. A shallow concrete slab is poured under the entire structure to provide even support.

  4. Bolted foundations: These are a quick and inexpensive option for temporary structures. Bolts are driven into the ground to stabilize the containers or modules. They are particularly well suited for temporary or mobile units.

The choice of foundation type depends on several factors, including the weight of the containers or modules, the soil conditions on site, the intended useful life and the budget. In some cases, a combination of foundation types may be the best solution to ensure stability and safety. It is advisable to consult a construction professional or engineer to determine the appropriate foundation type for your specific needs.
