How to stabilize the soil around a feeding place for horses? How to stabilize the lawn so that it can be used for keeping horses without any problems? Especially for animal husbandry or horse keeping, the Ground Grid BG50 is a perfect, functional and affordable solution.
To begin with, the customer laid our Geotextile TV110 as weed protection and stabilizing separation layer on the subsoil. Fine crushed stone was then spread on top of the geotextile as a traversing bed. The fine gravel serves on the one hand as a stable bearing surface for the Ground Grid, and on the other hand it increases the drainage volume and thus also the drainage capacity of the structure.
Subsequently, the Ground Grid were laid on the chippings bed and connected to each other. The Ground Grid has 4 coupling points on each of the 4 sides to safely and stably couple the grids. After all Ground Grid were laid and connected, the Ground Grid or honeycombs or cells could be filled. We recommend overfilling the 5 cm high Ground Grid by at least 1-2 cm, especially if, as in this case, loose topsoil was used for filling. At the latest after the first rainfall or soil moisture, the loose soil in Ground Grid will still settle.
Another important reason why you should overfill Ground Grid is that you will considerably reduce wear and tear and thus significantly improve its service life. In addition, it stands better, not only for the horse ;)
