Description

Ground Reinforcement for horses in the area of the feeding area, paddock or open stable with the Ground Grid BG30. The following things were important to the customer: no earthworks, no substructure, quick installation, manageable workload. The goal was also clearly defined: Mud-free paddock, dry, safe firm footing, soft and joint-friendly ground conditions.

In the first work step, the Geotextile TV110 was laid directly on the existing floor as a separating layer. Care should be taken to ensure that the individual fleece sheets overlap by at least 10 cm. The Geotextile prevents on the one hand the sinking of the floor grid into the ground and on the other hand the migration of the later filled in bulk material, sand or litter into the subsoil.

On the surface prepared in this way, the Ground Grid was laid directly without making a substructure. Then the Ground Grid was filled with sand (riding sand). We recommend, as also implemented in this photo documentation, an overfilling of the floor grid of at least approx. 3 - 5 cm as a footing layer.

This cushioning protects the joints of the horses and at the same time increases the life of the Ground Grid itself. Alternatively, the Ground Grid can be backfilled to the top edge. This makes it easier to clean the area when removing horse droppings, but reduces the service life of the floor grid.

In transition areas to edging, paved or asphalted areas, we recommend leaving approx. 3 - 5 cm distance to the edge so that the Ground Grid can expand and move.
