Description

This customer reference shows the Installation of the mulch mat coir MMK600 made of coir fibers for slope stabilization or slope stabilization. Mulch mats made of coir differ from simple coir mats by the black pore foil on the underside of the mulch mat. The porous film allows for regulation of soil moisture and protects against the growth of unwanted grasses and weeds.

The Installation of the mulch mat Kokos MMK600 is placed on a slope or embankment. The mulch mat should lie on the slope over its entire surface and without voids. To lay the mulch mat, we recommend starting at the top of the slope and securing it by digging the slope mat into the ground.

In the next operation, the mulch mat can be allowed to roll down the slope in a slow, controlled manner. Once the toe of the slope is reached, you can easily cut the mulch mat to length with a knife or scissors if needed.

Now begin to secure the installed mulch mat with approximately 3-5 Ground Anchor per linear meter. In addition, it is also recommended to additionally secure the mulch mat at the base of the slope by digging it in.

Proceed in the same way when laying the second sheet/roll, but note that the individual sheets are to be laid flat next to each other perpendicular to the slope. The overlap at the vertical longitudinal joints should be approx. 10 cm and at the transverse joints approx. 10-20 cm. The open edge of the overlap must face away from the main wind direction.

Cross joints must always overlap from top to bottom. The mulch mat laid in this way can be planted, if desired, to naturally secure the slope by deep-rooting plants. Alternatively, depending on the slope or inclination, the mulch mat can also be sown, similar to a so-called seed mat, and then lightly covered with soil.
