At Securatek, we have made it our mission to protect sensitive grounds and floors with our products. But we don't stop there. We also attach great importance to ensuring that our products sustainableand environmentally friendly.

And what would a company be without its employees? That's right, nothing. That's why the satisfaction and development of our employees, as well as a safe working environment across all departments, are very important to us.

Environmental protection, products and employees – in these three areas we do our best every day to ensure successful and sustainable future to secure.

Environmentally friendly materials and production

For our products we use high-quality plastic from recycled materials. The quality of the plastic is not affected. Our floor protection and road plates are highly resilient and robust. So they are very durable and can be used again and again.

If the plastic plates need to be replaced after long and intensive use, the old plates can simply be put back into the recycling cycle.

During production, the avoidance of harmful substances such as plasticisers, heavy metals and solvents is just as important to us as environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. We and our production partners ensure that the production of the products is energy-efficient and water-saving and that the CO ₂-Emissions are as low as possible.

Environmentally friendly shipping

Our products can usually be stacked to save space and cargo space optimizedloaded onto the truck. Depending on the size of the delivery, fewer trips are necessary, which reduces fuel consumption and thus also CO ₂-emission is reduced.

Our shipping service providers are always working to to reduce CO₂ emissions and to make shipping operations CO₂-neutral.

Our products also help customers protect the environment

In contrast to road plates made of wood or steel, our plastic panels are very durable and can be used again and again. long usability. New products need to be purchased less often and less waste is produced.

The plastic floor and road plates are very easy to maintain. The weather-, UV-, and temperature-resistant plates can be easily cleaned of dirt with water or a broom.

By using our products our customers also contribute to environmental protection. For example, a construction site is located in a remote area, and the access route leads across meadows or other sensitive areas. One option would be to create an access road using extensive excavations. However, this would not only damage the soil, but would also result in significantly higher CO₂ emissions from the construction vehicles and would also consume more fuel.

With a temporary access solution made from our plastic road plates, access routes can be created more quickly, easily and with less impact on the ground. The plastic plates can also be reused on other construction sites.

Green electricity and e-mobility

As a company, we have high energy requirements. The computers and other technology in our offices and warehouses need power. Therefore, at Securatek, we use environmentally friendly green electricity.

We are also in the process of completely switching our fleet to e-cars, which can be charged with green electricity at the company's own charging stations.

In general, as a company, we are keen to use energy and resources as efficiently as possible. These can be small things: turning off the monitors at the end of the day instead of leaving them on standby. Or having the lights in the restrooms turn on and off using motion sensors. All of this saves electricity and contributes to environmental protection in the long term.

Securatek is also committed to the environment

In addition to the products and sustainability measures directly within the company, we support various climate protection projects.

ClimatePartner – our climate-neutral websites

We work with ClimatePartner to support climate protection projects and reduce our CO₂ emissions. This company calculates the CO₂ footprint based on internationally valid standards and gives recommendations on how to reduce it.

Together with ClimatePartner, we have supported a climate protection project in Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in which a hydropower plant was built. This power plant, whose three turbines are driven by the water of the Rutshuru River, generates around 90,360 MWh of renewable energy per year. After flowing through the turbines, the water is channelled back into the river. As no water reservoir is required due to the use of the river water, the original landscape did not have to be changed so much and could remain in its original state as far as possible. The project not only helps the environment, but also improves the energy autocracy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This has enabled us to reduce the carbon footprint of our websites securatek.de and envirotek.de neutral. In the process, 586 kg of CO₂e were reduced, removed or avoided.

natureOffice – climate-neutral print catalog

In collaboration with natureOffice, we have supported a project on forest ecology and natural forest reforestation to offset the printing of our printed catalogue, which generated 228 kg of CO₂ emissions.

Planet Tree – Our company tree

We supported the Planet Tree project by planting a tree. That makes us a tree sponsors. As part of the project, 401656 trees have been planted in German state or municipal forests since October 2020. And one of them is ours. It's located right here: 50°06'53.1"N 9°01'40.6"E.

Fair supply chain & social responsibility

Sustainability affects not only the environment, but also the way we treat people within our companies. Therefore, we only work with suppliers who pay fair wages and retain social standards.

At Securatek, the well-being of our employees is also our top priority in our daily work. Issues such as occupational health and safety are just as important as the development and further training of our employees. We have set this out in our code of conduct.
