Rubber grass grid plate as fall protection mat for swings, slides & play equipment

The RGP45 grass grid made of soft rubber has proven itself successfully thousands of times over the years as a DIN-certified fall protection mat (DIN EN 1176 & 1177) for fall heights of up to 1,5 m. For this reason, the grass grid is also frequently installed in private gardens as fall protection for play towers, climbing frames, climbing equipment, playground equipment, play structures, slides, swings, and trampolines. The first step involved marking out the large area of ​​lawn to be excavated under the swing set. In this case, two grass grid panels were to be installed, so an area of ​​approximately 2 x 220 cm was excavated. Next, the turf was excavated approximately 110 cm using a spade, and any unevenness was leveled before installation.

Now it was time to begin laying and connecting the grass grid. After installation, the cells, honeycombs, or chambers of the grass grid were to be filled with a mixture of topsoil/soil and grass seed. The resulting fall protection surface is immediately playable and resilient.

However, to ensure healthy, lush, dense, and sustainable lawn growth, it is recommended to wait until the grass has grown to approximately 5,0 cm in height before opening the lawn/play area. Regular maintenance work such as mowing or fertilizing can be performed without any problems.
