Functional transformation of a front yard lawn into a beautiful and stabilized gravel area with reduced maintenance. Traditionally landscaped front gardens are increasingly being replaced by beautifully designed rockeries, gravel, and gravel surfaces. In addition to their decorative qualities, gravel surfaces also often offer compelling functional benefits. No mowing, no ruts, no ruts, no mud during the rainy season, excellent drainage, and easy and low-maintenance maintenance.
The initial task for this customer project was to remove the lawns in the front yard and driveway. The next step involved excavating the topsoil and creating a compacted, load-bearing gravel substructure.
A leveling layer of fine chippings was spread over the gravel base. Then, the KG30 gravel grid could be laid. Installing the gravel grid is incredibly simple and extremely quick. Lay out the gravel grid, connect it, and if necessary, adjust it by cutting, sanding, sawing, or separating. And if nothing else is available, the plastic gravel grid can also be cut in the area of the micro-perforated levelling plate using household scissors or side cutters.
Finally, the gravel grid only needed to be filled with gravel. Alternatively, the gravel grid can be filled with decorative gravel, crushed stone, or chippings. Grain sizes between 5 mm and 20 mm have proven to be ideal. We recommend covering the gravel grid with approximately 1–2 cm of gravel to protect it from direct contact and UV rays.
