Now, it can happen on construction sites that you have to drive over an area that has already been completed. Quite simply because the area behind it is not yet finished. Construction sites have many characteristic identifying features. For example, construction sites are often mentioned in the same sentence as noise or dirt. Construction vehicles often carry the construction site's dirt onto areas that are either already finished or will be finished soon. That's just the nature of things, even if it's certainly not intended. The outside observer is bothered by the sight, the construction worker is simply bothered by the fact that he will have to clean up the dirt he has created at some point. Surely, in addition to factors like time and money, this is also a question of frayed nerves, which lead to use cases like the one in this project.
Our customer uses the s:tek high-performance ground protection mat precisely to avoid these problems. The construction site is located in such a way that it is impossible to bypass an already completed area. The slabs were laid in a staggered pattern, similar to a wall, thus providing effective protection for the paving. The underlying geotextile further enhances the protective effect by preventing even small particles, such as sand, from penetrating between the slabs and onto the ground.
The panels were connected using Single connector made of plasticAdditionally, the connections were reinforced with 3 mm thick steel bars. The overall result speaks for itself: a transition for traffic that not only effectively protects the freshly paved surface, but also prevents additional cleaning work.
The s:tek high-performance ground protection mat has a profile on both sides (profile selectable) which is intended to prevent the plate from remaining stable and non-slip even on soft ground, such as mud or ground softened by rain.
