THW clearing group practices the construction of temporary roads with trackway panels

In April 2022, the Biberach/Baden branch of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) practiced creating temporary roadways. This included laying trackway panels or road plates made of plastic, which can be used to quickly and easily upgrade roadways even for heavy vehicles.

System-compatible procurement of trackway panels brings advantages in deployment and cooperation

With the available equipment, the Biberach local association was able to temporarily install 30 to 70 meters of roadbed, depending on the installation method. Since additional roadbeds are available in other local associations in the Freiburg region, these could be used as supplements if necessary, the Biberach local association stated.

THW and road plates from Securatek

Since 2010, more and more regional offices and local branches of the THW have been relying on the road plates including transport frame from Securatek type STEK-48, which have been proven in accordance with the THW-StAN, with the aim of providing system-identical and compatible equipment with ground protection plates.
