Load-bearing parking space without sealing
The existing area was to be made usable as a car park. At the same time, it was important that rainwater could continue to seep into the ground and that no sealed surface was created.
The goal was to find a solution that would create a stable yet open surface suitable for daily use.
Implementation with a load-bearing substructure
The area was constructed using a classic method. First, a stable base layer was created. This was followed by a leveling layer of fine gravel to create a flat surface.
The grid elements were then laid and adapted to the existing surface. Afterwards, the entire area was filled with Jura gravel. Crucially, for the structure to function correctly, the material must remain contained within the grid and not shift.
Stable parking space for daily use
Compared to loose gravel, the surface remains stable even with regular use. Vehicles can drive and park safely without leaving tracks or depressions. At the same time, the surface remains permeable to water and is less sensitive to rainfall.
