Gravel instead of asphalt! A decorative and functional redesign of the accessible forecourt of a driving school. The forecourt needed to look beautiful and natural. It was therefore clear that the asphalt surface had to be removed to create an attractive gravel forecourt. Thanks to the gravel, the forecourt was also unsealed at the same time. This allows rainwater and meltwater to seep naturally into the subsoil.
As positive as the ecological contribution of unsealed areas with gravel and crushed stone is, the problem remains that gravel and crushed stone are loose bulk materials.
In plain language, this means that unsightly "holes" or "ruts" can develop in an unstabilized gravel or crushed stone surface. To solve this problem, there are products that permanently stabilize the gravel or crushed stone. To solve precisely this problem, the KG30 plastic gravel grid from securatek was installed in this customer reference.
The cells or honeycombs of the KG30 gravel grid prevent the filled gravel from being displaced sideways/horizontally and prevent burrows from forming in the first place. The micro-perforated levelling plate of the KG30 gravel grid prevents the filled gravel from migrating downwards/vertically into the subsoil. This preserves the attractive appearance and effectively reduces the maintenance effort of the gravel surface, as no additional gravel needs to be added.
There are virtually no limits to the design possibilities. Gravel, crushed stone, or chippings in any color imaginable can be filled into the gravel grids. The recommended grain size is between 5 mm and 20 mm.
Gravel honeycomb KW30 or gravel mat KM30
Alternatively, we recommend the white KW30 gravel grid or the black KM30 gravel mat (ideal for dark gravel, grit, or chippings) for stabilizing gravel areas or gravel paths. To find out which product is best suited for your project, our Secuartek consultants are always happy to assist you!
