Accessories & connectors for road plates & ground protection mats

Connecting technology for road plates and plastic ground protection mats is essential. The connectors ensure the stability and secure connection of the plates. If you forgo connecting technology entirely and install the plates loosely, you run the risk of the plastic being worn down by possible movement of the plates on the floor.

Securatek has also addressed this problem and offers Road plates, Ground protection mats and Heavy-duty road plates suitable and special connection technology for both hard and soft soils, which represents a solution to the problem described.

Why are there different types of connectors?

With the 2-way connector made of steel two road plates or ground protection mats quick, easy and tool-free The double steel connectors are bent to securely hold the panels together under tension, compression, and shear forces.

We recommend 2-way connectors for creating separate lanes for temporary access solutions, trackways, temporary access routes, and construction site access roads or construction Site equipment.

The 4-way connector made of steel Allows you to connect four panels at the corner holes and/or, if available, at the double holes. For panels with double holes, we recommend always using the 4-way connectors, even when laying the panels as a lane.

The 2-way connector allows the connection of slabs as a construction road and platform. The steel reinforcement stiffens the connection technology to prevent horizontal to better withstand shear forcesWe recommend the Plastic connectors for all applications of road plates or ground protection mats on hard, solid, sensitive, high-quality and protective floors, floor coverings or floor coatings, such as asphalt, tar, road paving, sidewalk paving, industrial flooring, hall flooring, sports flooring, tartan flooring, and many more.

The quick connector is a type of connecting clamp for road plates. The connecting clamp is inserted from above into the already laid road plates. The connector can therefore be inserted without tools. Plastic connectors Compared to other connecting clamps, it works in both tension and compression and cannot pop open. The flat steel also somewhat reduces the risk of tripping.

What is the purpose of a ground anchor?

Our steel ground anchor fulfills two functions. Firstly, it is designed to secure road plates and ground protection plates to be anchored in the appropriate soilto improve the stability of the anchor. Thanks to its U-shape, the ground anchor can also connect two panels together.

But the actual purpose is that road plates or ground protection mats fixed to the substrate to improve site stability. In other words, we recommend using the ground anchor in terrain with longitudinal or transverse slopes, inclines, or declines.

Why should separation fleece or rubber mats be used for ground protection mats?

Based on many years of practical experience and close customer contact, we recommend for each application either a Soil protection fleece or a rubber mat as separating and decoupling layer between the floor and the plastic panels.

The geotextile fleece (GRK5) ensures that, for example, on soft soils, less mud penetrates through the transition joints onto the plastic panels and the construction road stays cleaner and less dirt is released. Furthermore, the load-bearing capacity of the panel composite on the subsurface is improved.

If the road plates are used on a high-quality and sensitive floor, e.g. as pavement protection, we recommend the use of rubber mats as a separating layer. The separating layer acts noise-reducing and reduces shifting of the panels due to shear forces and the rolling effect caused by vehicles driving over them. Please note that without the use of a separating layer, plastic abrasion, marks, and scratches may occur on the floor to be protected.
