Description

This customer project involved the reconstruction of the ground in front of the stables. It was important to the customer that the ground in front of the horse paddock was stabilized as quickly and without much effort as possible and, above all, that it was restored free of mud.

First, the Geotextile TV110 was laid directly on the existing floor as a separating layer. It should be ensured that the individual fleece webs overlap by at least 10 cm. The Geotextile prevents on the one hand the Ground Grid from pressing into the soft ground and on the other hand the later filled bulk material or litter from migrating into the subsoil.

The Ground Grid is laid directly onto the prepared surface without creating a substructure. Please note when laying that you keep at least 3cm distance to the edge border. This is necessary because the plastic Ground Grid expands or contracts slightly with temperature differences.

Afterwards the Ground Grid was filled with sand (riding sand). As in this reference, we recommend overfilling the Ground Grid by at least 3cm as a footing layer. This protects the horses' joints as well as the Ground Grid itself. Alternatively, the Ground Grid can also be backfilled up to the upper edge. This makes it easier to clean the surface when removing horse droppings, but reduces the service life of the Ground Grid.
