A problem that is certainly familiar to some homeowners. In the past, it was rather unusual for a household to have more than one vehicle. But those days are long gone. Nowadays, you have to reckon with at least two to three vehicles per household. But that also means you need additional parking. This customer project shows how the Ground Grid BG50 can be used to create an additional parking space for a vehicle from an inconspicuous, unused area.
First, of course, a suitable substructure must be manufactured. A good foundation is the best prerequisite for a solid base. This is then filled with crushed stone, sand or other bulk materials, straightened and fixed with a vibratory plate. To prevent unwanted weed growth, it is recommended to lay a geotextile at this point before laying the Ground Grid BG50 on the bulk material.
To connect the Ground Grid with each other, there are 4 coupling points on each of the 4 sides. This prevents both vertical and horizontal slippage. Last but not least, the whole thing then only needs to be filled and covered with a top layer. We recommend overfilling the 5 cm high Ground Grid by at least 1-2 cm, because at the latest after the first rainfall, the loose soil in the Ground Grid will still settle slightly. Et voilà. This would create another parking space for a vehicle in no time!
