Grass Paver lay plastic instead of concrete for a car parking space yourself

In this customer reference, the Grass Paver RGS35 made of plastic was preferred to a conventional Grass Paver made of concrete. The advantages of the plastic Grass Paver compared to its concrete counterpart are many. For example, the plastic Grass Paver can be laid directly onto the existing lawn / meadow without a sub-base  or pressed / vibrated / rolled into place.

By the "On TopInstallation" of the Grass Paver RGS35 one saves effectively time and money which one would have to pay otherwise for earth excavation and production of a substructure. Apart from that, you would first have to find a civil engineer, excavator company, haulage company or Horticulture company that can give you a quote for the work to be done and then also has time. 

The Grass Paver plastic is the perfect product for all home users, hobby craftsmen and home and property owners who like to take matters into their own hands, new German DIY (Do it yourself).

First of all, for each axle side of the vehicle, a lane was laid out on the lawn using turf stones. It is advisable to consider the axle distance of the vehicle and to align the Grass Paver to a guideline to achieve a straight and more beautiful result.

In the next work step, the Grass Grid were gradually hammered into the ground by our customer using a plastic hammer (alternatively rubber hammer) and a board. According to the customer, this worked very well because the topsoil was nice and soft.

However, we recommend using either a small hand tamper or a vibrating plate. Especially when it comes to slightly larger areas or the topsoil is a bit firmer.

Another tip: It is better to lay two rows of Grass Paver per axle side to be able to steer without the risk of damaging the lawn. Likewise, you should make the entry area a little wider to have a little more room for steering movements when approaching the area.

The reasons for the decision are easy to understand, because in a direct comparison of the solutions you will quickly realize that you save money and time with the plastic Grass Paver.

Another advantage of the Grass Paver made of plastic compared to a Grass Paver on concrete becomes immediately visible in high summer. The Grass Paver made of open-pored concrete heats up and extracts liquid from the surrounding soil due to the strong heat absorption and storage. The result is reduced plant growth to the point of parched soil and lawns.

The plastic of the Grass Paver does not absorb moisture and heats up much less than its concrete counterpart. The effects are correspondingly mitigated at the height of summer.
