In this reference, a mud-free access to a water trough for horses was manufactured using the Anchor Grid AG60 or the Paddock Plate PP60. Depending on the prevailing soil type, it may initially be important to make a substructure. It is not always necessary, but it offers only advantages. The minimal substructure chosen in this customer reference was made of sand, as you can see in the pictures.
Paddock Plates lay with or without substructure?
We recommend to always work with a substructure Geotextile so that soil layers do not mix and the soil structure is stabilized. In addition, the Geotextile functions as a barrier against mud from below pushing through.
Coupling paddock plates securely together
Next, the Anchor Grid AG60 (identical in construction to the Paddock Plate PP60) was laid on the substructure. Thanks to the easy-to-use connection or coupling of the paddock plates, even large areas can be laid quickly and easily. After the Anchor Grid have been laid out, they can be vibrated, driven or rolled into the ground depending on the subsoil and requirements so that the integrated ground anchors interlock firmly in the subsoil.
We recommend a minimal tread layer on the paddock pallets
Finally, the finished surface can be covered with sand, so that it is no longer or hardly visible and treading on the grids is more comfortable and easier on the horses' joints.
