This customer example shows the Installation of the BMK350 slope mat as erosion protection for slope stabilization. The Installation of the embankment mat is applied to a prepared and, if necessary, seeded area. The erosion protection mat must lie on the ground over its entire surface and without cavities. To install the embankment mat, we recommend starting at the top of the embankment and securing the mat by digging the embankment mat into the soil.
In the next operation, the embankment mat can be allowed to roll slowly down the slope in a controlled manner. Once the toe of the embankment is reached, you can easily cut the embankment mat to length with a knife or scissors. Now begin to secure the installed slope mat with approximately 3-5 Ground Anchor per linear meter. It is also advisable to additionally secure the embankment mat at the base of the embankment by digging it in.
Proceed in the same way when laying the second sheet/roll, but note that the individual sheets are to be laid flat next to each other perpendicular to the slope. The overlap at the vertical longitudinal joints should be approx. 10 cm and at the transverse joints approx. 10-20 cm. The open edge of the overlap must face away from the main wind direction.
Transverse joints must always overlap from top to bottom. The slope mat laid in this way can be planted, if desired, to naturally secure the slope by deep-rooting plants. Alternatively, depending on the slope or inclination, the embankment mat can also be sown with grass seed, similar to a so-called seed mat, and then lightly covered with soil.
