Secure slope and wall with the embankment mat coconut BMK350

With the embankment mat, they can easily secure and fix the slope. In addition, the embankment mat also serves as erosion protection, which is a great advantage for slope and incline. In this reference, the customer used the embankment mat to stabilize the slope above a slate wall.

Before starting the installation, he partially built back the wall and removed the slope.
This created a clean edge between the earth and the wall. He then laid the mats and secured them in the ground with BA230 ground anchors. Finally, the customer covered the ground mats at the base with the slate stones, so the transition looks cleaner.

The BM350 slope mat is made of 100% natural coconut fiber stitched with a PP thread in a PP net. If the slope is to be planted with e.g. lawn seeds, it is recommended to sow the lawn seeds on the slope mats and to cover them with fertile soil after sowing. The grass seed and the soil will find a hold in the coconut fibers of the embankment mat and will be protected from wind erosion, water erosion and soil erosion. For this reason, the embankment mat is often called seed mat.

Notes on Installation: When laying the embankment mat, make sure that the individual strips are laid next to each other perpendicular to the slope of the embankment. The overlap at the vertical longitudinal joints should be approx. 10 cm and at the transverse joints approx. 10-20 cm. The open edge of the overlap must face away from the main wind direction. The embankment mat should be secured in the ground with either Ground Anchor made of steel (U-shaped wire hoop) or wooden stakes, preferably made of beech, as long as no vegetation has grown.
