The coir embankment mat consists of 100% natural coir fibers and is quilted with polypropylene threads. The life of the coir mat is about 36 months, depending on the location - or soil conditions.
There is no need to do any preparatory work. The only thing that needs to be done is to level the uneven ground, i.e. fill the holes or hollows with soil and sow grass seeds if necessary.

It is also important to note that the coir mat should overlap 10 - 20 cm at the top and bottom ends (so don't cut off too much!), so that you can dig it in at the embankment shoulder and foot for fastening. Fixing can be done with ground anchors (ground anchor BA200/BA230), wooden pegs(wooden peg beech HPB300) or similar accessories. (see accessories geosynthetics)
The embankment mats should first be installed as described above. The next step is to make cross-shaped cuts in the mat using, for example, a cutter / carpet knife. Then dig a suitable plant hole, insert the selected plant and water well.
The advantage of a cross-shaped cut is that you can close the holes as far as possible after planting, so that only the plant is still visible. Another advantage to planting is that the roots of the respective plants grow into the coconut mat and additionally stabilize it.
