Effective car parking in the front garden with the Gravel Grid KG30

What to do when you want to make it beautiful? This is the question that many homeowners ask themselves when the front garden needs to be transformed into a parking lot. Here is the solution! In the past, people often concreted parking spaces for cars and cars  or asphalted with. Certainly that was also for many a fast and practicable procedure. Whether these surfaces were then however also respectable, lay probably rather in the eye of the beholder. Nowadays one uses a far more decorative kind. The creation of drivable surfaces with gravel or crushed stone has not only optical advantages. It also favors the natural seepage of rain and dew water. But many will ask themselves at this point, how is that with unsightly driving grooves or even whole holes. Gravel and crushed stone have the well-known property, in contrast to asphalt or concrete, not to be fastened. This is often referred to as loose bulk material. And this is where our Gravel Grid KG30 comes into play.

The Gravel Grid provides the necessary stability. The cells of the gravel grid prevent the filled gravel from being displaced laterally. This prevents the formation of channels or holes in the gravel in the first place. The microperforated base plate of the gravel grid, which is reminiscent of a sieve, also prevents the filled gravel from migrating into the subsoil. The effective appearance is maintained and the maintenance effort is almost zero, since no more gravel needs to be refilled. In terms of design, there are no limits for the user; for example, the Gravel Grid can be cut to any desired shape with a jigsaw. To prevent later unwanted growth of weeds, the previous Installation of a Geotextile is recommended. Finally, it is advisable to apply an additional 1-2 cm layer of gravel to protect the Gravel Grid from direct contact stress and UV rays.

In this exemplary customer project, the turf was first removed from the front yard and driveway area. Subsequently, the topsoil was excavated and a load-bearing subgrade was constructed. A levelling layer of fine chippings was then removed onto the sub-base. In order to limit weed growth, a geotextile was laid in the next step. Only then was the Gravel Grid cut to size and laid. Finally, the area was filled with the desired gravel. In any case, the final result makes a far more decorative overall impression than an asphalt or concrete surface ever could.
