In this reference, a courtyard driveway and a caravan site were stabilized and made passable with our Ground Grid BG50 from the Ground Reinforcement category, so that no unsightly driving grooves or Trackways occur in the lawn. First, the product itself. Made of LDPE plastic, the Ground Grid is not only resilient and springy, but also balances critical stress points on the product.
The Ground Grid BG50 can bear loads of up to 500t/m² and supports an axle load of 12 tons. The installation of the grid is without great effort. First make a substructure, fill it with gravel, sand or other bulk materials and lay the Ground Grid on it. Connecting the BG50 floor grid is also simple. The 16 coupling elements, which consist of hooks and eyes that snap into each other, are easy to use. The BG50 cannot be loosened vertically or horizontally (if it is already installed). In other words, the risk of e.g. tripping is reduced and sliding apart or sliding open is avoided.
About the application itself, the customer wrote to us:
We wanted to make our garden driveway passable, in order to reach with the tractor or also the caravan also in the "damp" season without problem up to the rear part of our garden without that the underground gives way and unsightly ruts develop.
First, the substructure for the expected loads was built up and constructed with 25cm 0/32 crushed stone. After that, a 3-5 cm layer of grit was applied and troweled off. The plastic Ground Grid BG50 was then laid directly onto the substructure.
In the next work step, the 5 cm high Ground Grid BG50 was backfilled to the top edge with a fertile soil mix and lawn seed / grass seed.We are thrilled with the result...
