The construction of the tunnel near Trimberg is intended to relieve congestion on the A7 freeway near Kassel and the A4 freeway near Herleshausen. In addition, the A44 will connect the towns of Hessisch-Lichtenau and Eschwege to the nationwide highway network. Tunnel construction in or near Trimberg is considered a challenging engineering structure in the area of the A44.
Solutions for road construction & Traffic route construction
BMK350 slope stabilization matting was used for the project. For large scale projects like this, the coir bevel Boschungsmatte was delivered to the site as a 120m2 roll. For smaller garden projects we also have smaller rolls in our assortment.
Erosion protection mats from coir fiber
The erosion control mat is also called coir mat, because it is made of 100% natural coir fiber and is held together with threads made of polypropylene. The embankment mat can be installed easily and quickly, as no subfloor work is required We recommend sowing grass seed before installing the embankment mat. For fastening the embankment mats we recommend using Ground Anchor BA230 or a wooden peg made of beech.
The embankment mat for slopes up to 40° and more
The embankment mat prevents erosion, which can be caused by bad weather conditions. For example: in case of strong wind or rain, the overlying soil can loosen and prevent the regrowth of grass seeds.
