The same applies to construction sites that take place either directly on or directly next to a sports facility. Pollution or damage would cause additional costs. Neither the contracted construction company nor the respective club or municipality wants that. It therefore makes perfect sense to provide adequate protection for the existing facilities beforehand. In this project, our customer achieved this with the help of the s:tek 48 high-performance ground protection panel. As the product name suggests, this is a high-performance floor protection panel that is incredibly flexible and robust. And these are precisely the properties that are not only appreciated on construction sites, but also absolutely necessary. Since construction sites usually take decades to complete and you often have to maneuver heavy equipment, you need floor protection panels that can rightly be called "high performance". Especially when you consider a project on a sports field with a tartan track.
As can be seen quite clearly, our customer also laid out a ground protection fleece as a separating and load-distributing carpet pad before laying the slabs. This provides additional protection and prevents dirt from getting onto the subfloor between the joints of the individual panels.
Normally, we generally recommend connecting the s:tek 48 - high performance floor protection panels to each other by means of single connectors made of plastic or single connectors made of steel. This depends on the condition of the floor and the type of application. This would reliably prevent the panels from slipping. In this particular project, however, this was not absolutely necessary or, rather, did not even make sense in the first place. Finally, we would like to emphasize the low weight of 41 kg/piece, which is always an important factor when laying floor protection panels.
